A healthy diet is based on a set of principles that must be taken into account to maintain public health, most notably:
·       Focus on eating vegetables and fruits, because they contain a lot of fiber, nutrients, and a small amount of calories in return, it enhances the feeling of satiety, reduces the risk of disease, and reduces the gain of excess weight.

·       Reduce salt intake, and avoid eating processed foods, pickles and cheeses because they contain plenty of salt.
·       Diversification in food; absent only food containing all the nutrients, and the amount that suits the needs of the body.
·       Replacing vegetables and fruits with snacks, while reducing the consumption of beverages and foods high in sugar, including candies, soft drinks, and energy drinks. Drinks and candies also cause weight gain.
·       Stay away from canned and baked meats.
·       Drinking plenty of water increases concentration, reduces fatigue, and may stimulate metabolism.



The five food groups
Foods are divided into five major food groups; each contains foods that share a range of essential nutrients for human health, including:
Cereals: Contains carbohydrates, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. In this context, it is preferable to choose half the amount of intake from this group of whole grains, being healthier, and rich in fiber.


Vegetables: contain a good amount of iron, magnesium, vitamin A, vitamin C, folic acid, fiber, and low in fat content.

Fruits are rich in potassium, fiber, vitamin C and vitamin A, and are low in fat content. It is recommended to eat fresh instead of juice, as it contains more fiber when it is correct.

Milk and dairy products: abundant in calcium, protein, vitamin A, and vitamin D. It also has great benefit for heart health. It is generally advisable to choose low-fat milk products.


Meat: contains plenty of protein, minerals, and vitamin B. Lean meat is preferred.
